We're Moving
Not far though...just a few blocks to the little downtown Clare in an apartment over a store. It has two bedrooms, hardwood floors, brick walls, etc. Matt has had his eye on it for a couple of months. We will finally escape the awful sewer smell the the landlord's son has tried to fix but it keeps coming back. Matt also bought me a mattress--I haven't slept on a mattress since I was in high school (we have slept on futons) this past weekend, so I will be able to have my new mattress/bedroom set when we move to our new place. Matt is eager--we get the keys this Thursday but he is already making us pack. I spent Sunday keying in books to sell on ebay. Ugh, Matt is listening to Lou Dobbs right now...I wonder if there is an anti-Lou Dobbs website...Oh, cool...they were just talking about it on his show...a website designed to get him off the air: http://hispanic.cc/ax_aol.htm

Moving is sad-- see my blog :-)
Ooooh, I think Matt should comment and defend his liking of Lou Dobbs, and then Melissa should respond, and it should be, like, a debate :-)
Sarah (who knows next to nothing about Lou Dobbs)
I doubt I could get Matt to debate on my blog--he is very utilitarian in his web usuage and sees my blogging to be as silly as my love of reality shows. And, there really wouldn't be much of a debate--he likes Lou and I don't. Lou harps on anti-immigration almost every day, even before the political highlighting of it lately. Matt is somewhat nationalistic because he thinks poor people get screwed by illegal aliens, while I am more apt to be anti-borders in general. But, outside of the political aspect, I just find Lou personally annoying--you know how people's looks/sounds just grate on your nerves?
Hmmm... well, of course, illegal aliens are poor people getting screwed, too. I can see the conflict: rich people pitting poor people against poor people, a la _Grapes of Wrath_. But I think the illegal aliens shouldn't be blamed; that we should focus on the real enemy, those with money and power who don't want to share it...who don't want to create a just society for all... and that is my idealistic, utopian two cents of the day :-)
