A Wee bit o' news
Right now Matt is watching Bill Maher on HBO who has Lou Dobbs on as a guest. I find Bill Maher borderline annoying and Lou Dobbs absolutely irritating, so I am going to use this time for blogging. Sarah requested that I tell about my trip to Texas. It was so anticlimatic—except that I didn’t have very high expectations in the first place. Britin, Matt, Matt’s mom and stepdad and I went to Panchos, a Mexican type buffet, and it was fine except that I thought the conversation topic was frustrating—Bush. Matt’s stepdad is very conservative but has decided recently that he hates Bush because of the Dubai ports issue. (This is the type of thing Maher talks about all the time!) It was almost like Matt’s stepdad was angry because Bush wasn’t nationalistic enough! I had to keep my mouth closed and was frustrated the whole time, so as not to create some kind of scene. What else did we do? We went to see Curious George with Britin and that was cute and then in Houston my sister, her husband, me and Matt went and saw Fun with Dick and Jane. I was so out of it because I had the flu that I was either asleep or I would hide and watch cable while at Matt’s parents’ house. Today is St. Patrick’s day and we went to the Doherty hotel and had the Irish buffet, which pleased Matt because he had corned beef and cabbage. Last night Matt got me Little Caesar’s pizza and that made me happy and then he surprised me with a Rent the musical DVD. I spent today staining the new bed frame (it is log wood, Amish) mahogany – I told Matt that the whole time I pretended like I had a gay designer friend like on the home improvement shows on cable who commented on the progress I made. Matt said that was all he needed. I also finished a puzzle of a cathedral that I have been working on since the new year—yeah! I feel so crafty! Here are some links in honor of craftiness and Irishness:
Jigsaw Puzzler—a good place for tips to help you with doing puzzles. I like the zen tips it gives (visualize the piece!)
Men who Knit—I like to knit…I like the idea that there are men out there who like to knit.

Info for Clare, Michigan Irish Festival—I think that this is out of date but gives a good idea of the craziness that our town is during St. Paddy’s day.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! It made me think about how at this same time last year, you guys were HERE, visiting me! No beer for me this year :-(
Are congratulations in order for Matt? (I loved reading your update, but I am still waiting to hear about what I hope is his great comps news!)
Ahhh... I should've read your replies. You don't know the answer about Matt's comps. It's written so you don't know right away if you passed. Duh, Sarah.
I looked at the St. Patricks day festivities link...they sure do plan a lot! We didn't do anything to celebrate, but we did rent lots of movies to stay home and watch all weekend!
